Dani Dayan heads the world’s foremost Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem in Israel. He was previously Israel’s Consul General in New York and chairman of the Yesha Council, an organization of Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank. Dayan once vowed to never set foot on German soil but is now headed to Berlin with an exhibition of artifacts to remember the Holocaust. Dayan sat down for an interview with DW correspondent Rebecca Ritters to talk about why it’s important to remember the Holocaust – and how to effectively confront the resurgence of antisemitism.
