You don't need a lot of fancy exercises to build a lot of muscle and strength. Basic calisthenics training like push-ups, pull-ups, and dips can do a lot for building your body.
However, you want to ensure you don't limit yourself and your potential gains. And no, that doesn't mean you need a lot of other exercises. It means you want to use your exercises progressively by adding resistance and using advanced programming.
