This game is considered Carl Schlechter's immortal, as he sacrificed two rooks, two bishops and a knight to eventually checkmate his opponent. In the game Schlechter brutally punishes his opponent for neglecting development of pieces. The game is also a perfect illustration of a creative and energetic attack, and a bad defense.
