Towards the end of his record, Nephi mentioned that the Savior’s “name should be Jesus Christ the Son of God, and that this was “according to…the word of the angel of God." In the past, commentators have assumed that Nephi was referring back to Jacob mentioning of the name Christ. But recent research into the original and printers manuscripts have revealed that Nephi actually heard the name "Jesus Christ" from an angel in an earlier vision.
