Lyrics:
[Hook]
Ayo, my people it's time,
I'm down here ready to vibe,
Beyond the walls of expression
that's how my music's defined,
Get ready, jump in the fire,
Stick through the heat and fly higher,
Pay homage to the creators
and then you'll truly inspire.
[Verse 1]
First things first, leave the pity party for these talent shows,
Your sob story's only really gonna get you so far as an artist,
only thing for sure- is that your skills are what matter, doesn't matter if you're rich or poor,
From an early age, never cared for what they say, never cared for what they do,
Never been a metal head but nothing else matters, word to James Hetfield-
That was the intro, this is where I get at you,
See these rappers look hungry but I'm the one that eats next,
Huff and puff and act tough, I can see through your weakness,
The aims been the same since the day I began-
Get the game in a death grip and leave em speechless,
They felt my punches last time I dropped,
But they threw little jabs saying I missed a hook,
So I'll throw straight shots to get my point across,
This uppercut'll hit em up like Tupac Shakur.
[Hook]
[Verse 2]
I talk that BIG shit, I got a story to tell,
I started rapping round when Nas dropped hip hop is dead,
I remember back then I was mad as hell-
cuz being conscious, meant you were destined to fail,
Ringtone rap was blowing up, I couldn't figure out why-
he’s gonna make such a claim and let hip hop die,
I went through that whole era, went through that whole phase-
where rappers started trading their
baggy pants for skinny jeans,
That emo phase of hip hop, hand in hand with auto-tune,
Then came that rush of club songs by Flo-Rida and Pitbull,
Like it's a hit fool, you should try it too, get with times,
I told them it's a trend, it will never survive,
Fast forward to today trap beats are the shit,
Mumble rappers with their gibberish, they say the beat is lit,
Life imitates art so I followed what saw and then-
I started scribbling some rhymes in hopes of making dividends.
[Hook]
[Verse 3]
My main goal's to approach every verse of mine like Ludacris in 03 when he made you look,
But half the listeners are fickle, the faster you rap, the better rapper they consider you-
won't be given your props for skills you bring to the table,
See how long they'll be able-
to ignore and be cynical,
I put on a clinic everytime I go lyrical,
The flow's iller, hit you with that slick shit, i'm sick with the syllables,
See, at the beginning my fascination for this art I majored-
was an infatuation I had to bash these haters,
And blast them with passion- kick ass,
but maturation set In motion my aims,
my motivation today's to be the best in the nation-
while I patiently wait for things to come to fruition,
More dirt I be dishing, I got that ammunition, I envision my mission, dismissing competition.
