About Jaya Prakash Reddy
Jaya Prakash Reddy was a Telugu actor born in Sirvel, of Kurnool district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. He came into the limelight with the feature film Samarasimha Reddy where he played the role of Veera Raghava Reddy. Fondly called JP, he acted as the villain in the hit film Jayam Manade Raa and Chennakesava Reddy. Apart from villain roles, JP also acted in several comedy films. He had a role in the 2018 film MLA. He passed away on 8th September 2020 at his residency in Guntur due to cardiac arrest.
Jaya Prakash Reddy or also known as JP is a renowned Telugu film actor. He was born in Sirvel in the Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh in India. He lived in Nalgonda for 30-years and settled in Guntur. Right now, he stays in Hyderabad, Telangana in India. His father works as a police inspector and stage actor, which influenced him at an early age. He worked as a school headmaster and as a stage artist before he became a film actor.
He did a solo act in a sociological stage play entitled Alexander in October 2010. Prior to this, he made another solo play in Kotha Sainyam. He was debuted as an actor in the 1988 Tollywood film, Brahma Puthrudu, helmed by Dasari Narayana Rao. In 1997, he was starred in like a mighty factionist in Rayalaseema in Jayanth C. Paranjee’s Preminchukundam Raa. Since then, Jaya Prakash is best known for his Rayalaseema slang.
This was followed by a few more films until his limelight came in the year 1999 through B. Gopal’s action drama film, Samarasimha Reddy. He acted as Veera Raghava Reddy and through his character in the movie, he was marked as one of the best villains in Tollywood. Later, his performances as the main antagonist in N. Shankar’s Jayam Manade Raa and as Venkat Reddy in the action film, Chennakesava Reddy were both notable. Besides doing serious villain roles, he is also known for donning comedy films including Kithakithalu in 2006, Evadi Gola Vaadidhi in 2005, Siddu from Srikakulam in 2008, Madatha Kaja, Seema Tapakai and Kandireega in 2011, Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi in 2015.
Jaya Prakash also donned a memorable dance performance to the tune of Gangnam Style in the 2013 comedy-drama film, Noothi Lo Kappalu, which stars Rajendra Prasad. In the same year, he made a cameo appearance in G. Karthik Reddy’s Adda. Though it’s just a cameo role, the talented actor managed to make the audience laugh with his usual slang and the way he delivers his dialogue. He is best known for his films such as Chatrapathi, Temper, Manam, Oosaravelli, Masala, Shadow, Race Gurram, Autonagar Surya, Baadshah, Naayak, Kandireega, Namo Venkatesha, Gabbar Singh, Kick, Prasthanam, and King. This 2015, he will be seen in a dual role in the upcoming Telugu action film, Bruce Lee – The Fighter, which was helmed by Srinu Vaitla. The film stars Ram Charan and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. His comedic performance in the movie is something that the audience should look forward to.
