Benefits of Foaming Cleansers
Foaming facial cleansers are a great way to combine a cleanser to remove excess skin cells, oil, dirt, makeup, and other pollutants from the skin while the Foam acts as cushion that guards your skin from abrasion, harsh rubbing and drying out.
CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser Vs Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser
As far as what they both have in common, both of these are foaming cleansers which means, they help to reduce the friction from your hand to face to prevent skin pulling when washing. They both contain the AHA called citric acid, both of them do not contain any harsh alcohols, common allergens, fragrances, oils or silicones, which im a big fan of when cleansers dont include these ingreidents. And they have a total of 3 common ingredients, water, glycerin, and citric acid, and both do an amazing job at brightening the face and removing skin impurities for a thorough and effective cleanse, all while being non comedogenic.
What's Different with the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
There are 3 notable differences about this one that stands out to me. The first being that it contains niacinamide, a form of vitamin b3 that is present in the skin repairing process and softens fine lines. The second is that it contains essential ceramides, which are intercellular lipids that help bond skin cells together to create a healthy barrier and hold in water. And lastly, it contains a form of hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid that acts as a humectant to hold water even more and rehydrate the skin. So in addition to a thorough and effective cleanse, youre getting the benefits of niacinamide, essential ceramides, and hyalouronic acid, which you dont find in the cetaphil one. So if your skin is a little bit more on the oily side, is more prone to redress, and is acne prone, you may lean more towards the cerave one as the inclusion of niacinaide really gives you that boost of benefits. And if you feel a lot drier after a wash and your skin feels taut, the ceraves blend of actives helps prevent feeling too dry after the wash.
What's different about the Cetaphil Gentle Foaming Cleanser
Now lets get into the cetaphil gentle foaming cleanser. Now straight away, you can tell the cetaphil wants you to know that this is a gentle cleanser. But what makes it that way? Lets take a look at what that may be, well, in the ingredients list you can see it contains panthenol which is a skin conditioning agent which helps prevent moisture loss and helps reduce redness that you may experience after washing. The gentle foaming cleanser offers up some comparable ingredients to Cerave as well. It’s made with a skin conditioning vitamin complex that includes vitamins B5, E, and glycerin. Vitamin B5 is a provitamin with regenerative, healing, moisturizing and protective properties, while vitamin E, or tocopheryl acetate is a potent antioxidant that improves cell function. So getting these benefits throughout your wash makes it that much better. Also the Cetaphil cleanser has a self-foaming pump which creates an airy lather. Its an instant foam, as opposed to ceraves gel foam, which means It will dissipate pretty quick after you put it on, and it also rinses away easily too. Which idk if that matters to you. So if sensitivity is a concern for you, you dont want too many actives and ingredients all at once, and like the idea of vitamin e and glycerin with your cleanse, without feeling too dry after the wash you may lean more towards the cetaphil one.
None of them really make your skin irritated or feel harsh in anyway and both do an amazing job at making your face feel fresh and clean. So it really does come down to what your preferences are with the information.
