I was working on a different demo of this version (Rita Roo) of their Read-A-Roo mascot to send to UNC-TV as a pitch to see if I could do further work with the channel, when they announced the "Rootle Up! Dance Contest" for their audience - and specifically that "adults, kids, and kangaroos could enter!" So, over the course of 3-4 days, I built this scene and animated it. (Not as a contest entry of course, actual kids should win that!) I'm happy with how it turned out, and hope you all enjoy. While they said they couldn't use my work on the channel (which isn't surprising as 501c3 nonprofits frequently can only work with other nonprofits), I do hope this serves as an inspiration to others as to what can be done quickly on a single person budget, with free software like Blender.
The Rootle logo, and the "Rootle Up" song are trademarks of UNC-TV. Animation, modeling, rigging, and scene setup by me. :D
