I get people asking me all the time, "Why aren't my hydrangea blooming?" Well, this is the answer, I'm convinced! Hydrangeas, and plants in general, are meant to bloom and flower and if you provide even half of what they need, there's no reason they shouldn't bloom......unless you've got the wrong hydrangea for your area.

If you have a hydrangea in your garden that blooms on old wood but you live in an area that get's too cold for your hydrangea and the old wood dies back every winter then your hydrangea will never bloom, unfortunately. The answer is to dig up the old plant and get a variety that blooms on new wood.
