Angelegt als narrativer Bogen spiegelt "Lifestream" selbst den natürlichen Lauf der Dinge wider – von der Geburt bis zum Tod, von "Craving", einem euphorischen, schimmernden Track, der die DNA des gesamten Albums beinhaltet, bis zu "Grave", einem Stück über Schwerelosigkeit und "einen Raum, den ich nicht im Detail beschreiben wollte."
Es ist, erklärt Motschmann, eine Art Epitaph, mit einem eindringlichen Klavier und trauernden Streichern, die der Aufnahme und dem in ihr enthaltenen Leben eine friedliche – und passende – Coda verleihen.
