Hi everybody. My name is Andy with the etrailer.com and today we are looking at Coughlan's backpackers trowel, and this trowel is perfect for backpackers or campers who need a trenching tool or a sanitation trowel, but you don't want to pack a lot of additional weight to what you're carrying. By the way this trowel also works great as a gardening tool, let's take a closer look at this trowel and we see that this is made out of high impact polystyrene plastic. It is lightweight, and as you can see, it's bright orange for easy visibility. So it's going to be really difficult to lose this in the woods. I'm kind of giving it some flex here and it is very sturdy and the, the plastic is very strong, and I think it would take up quite a bit to break this or shatter this.
As you can see here at the end, it does have a rather sharp end that will help you cut through the soil and small roots with ease. And while we're taking a close look at this, let's get some measurements just to kind of give you an idea. This overall length of this trowel is sitting right at 11 inches long overall, and at its widest point, at its widest point, it is about 2.58 inches long at its widest point. And the blade length is sitting right at six inches long. Well, I made up here a little bit.
So the blade length is sitting right at six inches long, and then the handle length, we're sitting right at four and three quarters inches. The depth of the handle is about three quarters inch thick. So if you're looking for a trowel, that's has a measuring tool that is etched on the blade. I would recommend taking a look at the GSI Outdoors Cathole sanitation trowel. That is item number 3732010 on our website.
And like I said, among some other features that it has, it does have a measuring tool that is etched on the blade of that particular trowel. So that concludes our look at Coughlan's backpackers trowel. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me today..
