About Cobra Kai
Cobra Kai is an American comedy-drama web television series, based on The Karate Kid film series created by Robert Mark Kamen. Season 1 premiered on May 2, 2018, on YouTube Red (now YouTube Premium). The series was created by Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald and stars William Zabka and Ralph Macchio reprising their roles from the films, who also serve as co-executive producers. It takes place 34 years after the original film and follows the reopening of the Cobra Kai karate dojo by Johnny Lawrence and the rekindling of his old rivalry with Daniel LaRusso. The series has been met with positive response, with critics praising Zabka, Macchio, List, Kove and Maridueña's performances. Season 2 premiered on April 24, 2019, with ten episodes.[1] On May 2, 2019, YouTube renewed the series for a third season,[2] which is scheduled for a 2020 release.[3]

The three-decade-long legacy of the Karate Kid continues in Season 2 of YouTube's Cobra Kai, taking its characters to emotionally darker places this time around, yet still preserving those witty comedic aspects that made its first season so memorable. William Zabka and Ralph Macchio return to their respective leading roles as Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso - resuming their war for martial arts supremacy in the Valley.
