Specialist Dr John Worthington explains that many medical procedures don't require you to stop taking warfarin beforehand (e.g. dental procedures, skin cancer removal). If you do stop warfarin, another type of anticoagulant should be used. "The shorter the time without an anticoagulant, the safer you are" says Dr Worthington.
