The 43-inch 4K monitor from Philips 436M6 is the first to obtain HDR1000 approval.
The DisplayHDR certification guarantees consumers an excellent level of performance of the monitor, but none has received the highest level, until now. The 43-inch 436M6 Momentum is the first to obtain HDR1000 approval, ensuring excellent brightness of 1,000 cd / m2, deep blacks, 10-bit color depth and an HDR-compatible color gamut. To achieve this, Philips used Quantum Dot technology, just like Samsung uses in its QLED televisions and monitors. It also features Ambiglow technology that places a halo of light on the walls and floor, combining the content of the screen.
The beauty of DisplayHDR is that you do not even have to look at the specifications of a product to know what you will get. There are three standards, DisplayHDR 400, 600 and 1000. At the HDR 1000 level, you should emit at least 1,000 cd / m2 of brightness, or 600 cd / m2 for a long duration, about two to four times more than what is going up to your current screen. All DisplayHDR levels must also support a contrast ratio of 955: 1, 10 bits per color of image processing and film-quality color gamuts. Naturally, these specifications are ideal for watching HDR movies on Blu-ray or Netflix, but also for creating such content in the first place. As such, Philips offers something called MultiView, which allows you to simultaneously connect a PC and decoder.
