Hello guys, in this video I had talked about the difference between terminal , shell and a console. These three terms are generally interchanged , however these are not same.
Terminal provides the interface to interact with system using command and load a shell for us. Shell is the actual program that take command as an input and give us output. There are multiple shell available like bourne shell , c shell , tcsh bourne again shell etc. , practicing with single shell is recommended as not mush difference exist between different shells. Finally, console is a term used during 90s in which a monitor and keyboard was present to interact with system. No GUI method was used in that time. The combination of monitor and keyboard for command line interaction is known as console. Note : this is computer console NOT gaming console.
