A police officer has been hit by a missile in the New Lodge housing estate, Belfast, (pictured right) after violence broke out from residents about the removal of their bonfire site (pictured left holding a flag on top of the structure). They have threatened a community centre. Around 150 police vehicles and officers in riot gear have sealed off Queens Parade in the estate, but two young people are protesting on top of the pile of wooden pallets, which was due to be set alight on Thursday night.
