Xing Yu (*1997), composer, conductor
Contemporary music composer born in China in 1997. Currently he is studying music composition for master degree in the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg in Germany(HfMT Hamburg). Before moving to Germany he studied music composition in Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Kraków in Poland(AMKP Kraków)in class of Prof. dr hab. Marcel Chyrzyński, orchestral conducting with Tomasz Tokarczyk in Krakow opera house(Opera Krakowska)in Poland. He studied electroacoustic and computer music with Prof. dr hab. Marek Chołoniewski and dr hab. Mateusz Bień during the years in Poland. He also joined the concerts for electroacoustic music during the 31st, 32nd and 33rd Krakow international festival of composers.
From 2022, he started to work with Maestro Justus Frantz, as his concert assistant and conducting trainee in his orchestra “Philharmonie der Nationen” in Germany.
In 2018 his composition 'Cursive Script' was commissioned by concert for Warsztat Kompozytorsko-Wykonawczy in the class of Prof. dr hab. Tomasz Sobaniec, this was the reason and opportunity that the piece 'Cursive Script' was completed. He also performed this piece as a conductor during the world premiere concert.
In 2019, he finished his first orchestral composition Requiem 1976 for percussion and string orchestra which is dedicated to all the victims of the earthquake in Tangshan (the composer’s hometown in China) in 1976.His compositions have got premiered and performed in different concerts and festivals in Poland including his piece for chamber ensemble 'the Painted Skin I', trio 'Tears in the Rain' etc. Especially his graduation music composition for Bachelor degree in Poland ‘The Painted Skin II' for soprano, bass and large chamber ensemble was premiered in Krakow Philharmonic(Filharmonia Krakowska). About his music, he is focused on developing his music with oriental elements and concepts as a Chinese composer.

Komponist zeitgenössischer Musik, geboren in 1997 in China. Derzeit studiert er Musikkomposition im Master an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg (HfMT Hamburg). Bevor er nach Deutschland zog, studierte er Musikkomposition an der Krzysztof Penderecki Musikakademie in Krakau in Polen (AMKP Krakau) in der Klasse von Prof. dr hab. Marcel Chyrzyński, Orchesterleitung mit Tomasz Tokarczyk im Krakauer Opernhaus (Opera Krakowska) in Polen. Er studierte Elektroakustik und Computermusik bei Prof. dr hab. Marek Chołoniewski und Dr. hab. Mateusz Bień während der Jahre in Polen. Er nahm auch an den Konzerten für elektroakustische Musik während des 31., 32. und 33. Krakauer Internationalen Festivals der Komponisten teil.
Ab 2022 begann er mit Maestro Justus Frantz als Konzertassistent und Dirigierpraktikant in seinem Orchester „Philharmonie der Nationen“ in Deutschland zu arbeiten.
In 2018 wurde seine Komposition „Cursive Script“ im Konzertauftrag für Warsztat Kompozytorsko-Wykonawczy in der Klasse von Prof. Dr. hab. Tomasz Sobaniec, das war der Grund und die Gelegenheit, dass das Stück „Cursive Script“ fertiggestellt wurde. Er führte dieses Stück auch als Dirigent während des Uraufführungskonzerts auf.
In 2019 beendete er seine erste Orchesterkomposition Requiem 1976 für Schlagzeug und Streichorchester, die allen Opfern des Erdbebens in Tangshan (der Heimatstadt des Komponisten in China) im Jahr 1976 gewidmet ist. Seine Kompositionen wurden uraufgeführt und bei verschiedenen Konzerten und Festivals aufgeführt in Polen, darunter sein Stück für Kammerensemble 'The Painted Skin I', Trio 'Tears in the Rain' etc. Insbesondere seine Abschlussmusikkomposition für den Bachelor in Polen 'The Painted Skin II' für Sopran, Bass und großes Kammerensemble wurde uraufgeführt in der Krakauer Philharmonie (Filharmonia Krakowska). Über seine Musik konzentriert er sich darauf, seine Musik mit orientalischen Elementen und Konzepten als chinesischer Komponist zu entwickeln.
