Social media has transformed our lives and created a virtual identity for many. However, the dangers of online stalking can often lead to tragic consequences. In this video, AF Crime investigates the tragic story of Bianca Devins, a 17-year-old teenager from Utica, New York, who became a victim of dangerous online stalking and was eventually murdered by her online mate.
Bianca was a sensitive teenager who battled with depression and anxiety. To escape reality, she turned to social media forums such as Discord and 4Chan. Bianca's biggest coping strategy was to create online profiles where she could interact with other users and make friends. Eventually, she started an online Instagram blog where she shared her fashion choices and bits and pieces of her everyday life. One of her followers, a 21-year-old fitness enthusiast named Brandon Andrew Clark, became infatuated with her and started commenting on every post she made.
Bianca soon realized that Brandon was trying to befriend her and they started talking. However, Brandon became possessive of Bianca and even supplied her with drugs. Bianca tried to distance herself from him, but Brandon didn't step back. On July 13th, 2018, Brandon invited Bianca to a concert and during the ride back, he accused her of cheating on him with another friend. Brandon then assaulted Bianca with a knife that he had kept under his seat and slit her throat.
