There is a lot to replacing a segment of teeth ! Research heavily before you have dental implants. This video should give you a great starting point to learn more dental implants.
Hi. I'm Dr. Ramsey Amin. Replacing multiple teeth, it's a big deal. Oftentimes it's going to be smooth and easy for you but what I mean by a big deal, it should be taken seriously. These are, hopefully, body parts that we're replacing, they're going to be there for a very long time. When I say multiple implants I'm usually talking about a segment of teeth from here to here, or maybe in all the corners, or a group of teeth in the front. That's what we mean by multiples. It's not the full arch replacement where we're replacing the whole top or the whole bottom, or just a single tooth.
Usually a multiple tooth replacement requires a bone graft to make the bone either wide enough or tall enough, or just to give extra support so the bone doesn't melt away over time. I'd hate for you to become a patient that has problems with implants. In fact, that's what I do a lot of is failures and revisions and I call it implants gone wrong, but most of the time when done properly, it'll be done in a great way. You'll have wonderful teeth you can chew with, you can smile. You can have your dignity and not have to feel like you've got to take things out or embarrassed to smile, and really just look great. They should look and feel like your own natural teeth, having porcelain teeth made by an excellent lab that's going to last, look great and function well and be very pretty and aesthetically pleasing.
The process for most patients having a segment done, if it's in the back of the mouth, sometimes going slower in stages is better. I'll extract the teeth and typically put the implants at the same time so it's a single visit for most of my patients with advanced planning scanning technologies, but oftentimes we'll delay putting the teeth on just for a little bit. You'll always be with some sort of teeth in the meantime, or we can do immediate provisionalization. That means same day teeth on there on the same day. You just really can't chew on them for a while.
There's a lot to know about this process. I suggest you read a little bit more about bone grafting, whether or not you need a sinus lift or a ridge augmentation or a gum graft. But again, I take a lot of pride in what I do and my team does as well. We want you to have the best possible implant dentistry that's out there so that it will be long lasting, painless, hopefully, and also not having to do something over and over. I want you to do this, hopefully, one time. Dental implants are not forever, but they can last a really, really long time. And again, if there's questions, please call the office, schedule an appointment. We really would be excited to meet you here in the office and to help work up your case so that you really can get a good understanding whether or not this is right for you, what are the stages, what are the costs, how long will it take, and what to expect along the way?
All right. Do your due diligence, visit the blog. There's a lot of information on there where you can learn more about multiple tooth replacement. And I've tried to put some samples in the gallery so you can kind of get some idea but there's way too much that I have that can be put on a single website. All right? Thanks so much. Looking forward to meeting you. Take care.
