South Korea's Hanwha defense industry offers the Australian K239 Cheonmoo ( Chunmoo ) K-MLRS artillery weapon system.
Not only sales, Hanwha is ready to provide technology transfer and local production of its missile systems and ammunition.
The K239 Chunmoo went into production in 2013 and is already in service with the Republic of Korea Army.
This multi-barreled rocket launcher weapon system uses an 8X8 tactical truck chassis with an armored crew cab.
The K239 is capable of firing a variety of projectiles including the Korean-developed 130mm, 227mm and 230mm caliber ammunition.
The vehicle is equipped with two launch pods capable of firing rockets of different calibers, according to Army Recognition.
The system can fire 130 mm unguided rockets (20 rockets to each pod), 227mm unguided rockets (6 rockets to each pod), and 239mm guided rockets (6 rockets to each pod).
The pods are mounted on a turntable that has a 360° trajectory.
The 130 mm version has a range of 23-36 km and will be increased to 80 km on the new model.
While the 239 mm version can reach a distance of 80 km. Some reports say up to 160 km.
Chunmoo is manned by three people and uses a digital fire control system with on-board positioning/navigation.
This combat vehicle can quickly move, stop, shoot, and move again.
The K239 is accompanied by an ammunition reloading K239T vehicle. For mobilization, the system can be transported using a C-130 Hercules aircraft.
Poland is said to be interested in the K239 K-MLRS and is in parallel discussions with the US and Hanwha.
