In our only full day in Luxembourg, we knew we had to make the most of our time. First on our list was to explore the Luxembourg city center, home to many high end retail stores. Recent success of iron ore mining in the country created new wealth for this area, causing Luxembourg to be called the richest country in the world. We did not eat the typical Luxembourgish food because we were told we may not enjoy it as we are traveling from the United States.

As we ventured out of the city center, we visited Bock Casemates. This was temporarily closed, but we were still able to walk around the outside. Our largest task of the day was visiting Fort Obergrünewald and Fort Thüngen to learn more about the history of this city. We were blown away by how amazing these massive structures were and were pleasantly surprised that most of it was still standing.
