The BIG cruise news we were waiting for?! The CDC has announced new guidelines for cruises to start up again in the United States, within the Conditional Sail Order. In this video we look at what's involved and what has to happen next for cruises to really start again from the ports in the USA. While cruise lines will still have to run test cruises or trial cruises, this is in another part of the plan. CDC has introduced a new phase of the CSO.
To update, the cruise industry has been shut down in the USA for over a year. While cruises are sailing, or plan to shortly, in many countries in Europe, Singapore, the UK and Israel, and have sailed with several hundred passengers worldwide, there is still no clear path to how cruises can resume in the United States. Cruise Line leaders, government officials, the travel industry, and the cruise ports have all asked for the order to be removed so cruise lines
The new phase order deals with safety of cruise crew, cruise port personnel and cruise passengers in more detail than past orders, from what we can see.
