In the vibrant Igbo village of Umuokpala, Amaka, a talented weaver, and Chike, a kind-hearted woodcarver, share a love that defies the village's strict traditions. According to the custom of "igba nkwatọ," a younger sister cannot marry before her elder sister. Amaka's elder sister, Ebele, dreams of becoming a master potter, a pursuit deemed unsuitable for a woman.
With support from her friend Nneka and wise counsel from her grandmother Nne Nne, Amaka decides to challenge this tradition. The young lovers, along with Ebele, approach the village elders, proposing a compromise that would allow Ebele to follow her dreams while Amaka and Chike marry.
Their plea sparks intense debates and a year-long journey of proving their worth. As Ebele masters the art of pottery in Nsukka, her talent begins to sway the villagers. The elders, moved by Ebele's artistry and the strength of Amaka and Chike's love, ultimately agree to amend the tradition.
Join us in this inspiring tale of love, ambition, and courage. Witness how Amaka, Chike, and Ebele's journey transforms their village, proving that even the most entrenched traditions can evolve.
