Module 11 – Application Security Capabilities
Here, we will go through a somewhat shorter section on identifying what can make for a good application with regards to its security capabilities.
With most modern apps, the two biggest contributing factors is how the app communicates and whether it was developed with secure best practices in mind.
So, we will run through some of the common application protocols like TLS, LDAP, SNMP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP4 and DNS and their secure alternatives, at a moderate level of detail.
After which we will have a look at some considerations for secure app development, and a little bit of how you can test your own apps or other people’s apps more securely.
Below are the time stamps for you to easily navigate and jump back to sections as and when you need to.
