HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WRKC) -- A man is sentenced to life in prison for the beating death of a young boy.2-year-old James Livesay was killed in his Sycamore Township home in March of 2012. The beating came at the hands of Anthony Pierson, his mother's boyfriend at the time. It followed another beating several months earlier that put the boy in the hospital. At that time, Pierson was ordered to stay away from little James. Before Judge Norbert Nadel handed down his sentence Pierson apologized, but the judge still had some harsh words for him. A number of the boy's family members were in the courtroom and addressed the judge and confronted Pierson before his sentencing. Pierson pleaded guilty in exchange for taking the death penalty off the table. He will be eligible for parole in 20 years.
