Romanian President Klaus Iohannis will address the European Parliament in Strasbourg to outline his vision for Europe’s challenges and future. This will be the thirteenth in the This is Europe series of debates with European heads of state and the first in 2024.
Iohannis was born in 1959. He graduated from the Babeș Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and started teaching physics in 1983. From 2000 to 2014, he was the mayor of Sibiu. In December 2014, he was first elected president of Romania and he is currently serving his second five-year mandate.
