Watch this to see how you can drill stainless steel in ten seconds. I'm showing our new step bit and it's made particularly to go through stainless steel. It's got a split tip design so it penetrates stainless steel in less than ten seconds. It's double fluted so it has two cutting surfaces. This particular bit is made for the electrician. It's wider on the bigger sizes. See these two sizes here; those are typical of electrician sizes. It's wider so it's easy for them to tell when they've hit that size. It's got cobalt in it; that's what makes it able to drill through stainless steel.
