What is APEDA?
APEDA stands for Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority. This is a government organization, established in 1985 for the promotion and development of export of certain products. The Processed Food Export Promotion Council (PFEPC) was replaced by the APEDA. This organization provides information, financial assistance and guidelines for the development of scheduled products, that are specified under the APEDA Act. Business houses that export these products are required to complete their registration under APEDA.
