On January 28th, 1986, the space shuttle Challenger exploded after its launch from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, killing all of the shuttle's seven astronauts.
On January 28th, 2011 the Astronauts Memorial Foundation held a memorial ceremony to honor the crew of the Challenger in remembrance of the 25th anniversary of the space shuttle's explosion.
