This is my story and journey with endometriosis.
Endometriosis effects 1 in 10 women, and takes on average 7-12 years to be diagnosed. These symptoms mentioned are my personal experience, and symptoms can vary to that which mimic IBS to coughing up blood during your period. This is because endo can grow on different organs such as your bowels, bladder, ovaries, and diaphragm (to name a few). The illness can also present without any or very few symptoms, and can only be found when trying to conceive and having infertility. Not all women with endometriosis are infertile, but 30% of women struggling in infertility have endometriosis. With this knowledge, every woman should be aware of this illness. Currently the only way to diagnose endometriosis is through laparoscopic surgery.
WE NEED A SIMPLER WAY TO DIAGNOSE ENDOMETRIOSIS.
WE NEED A CURE.
