Recruits arrive to help Peter with the construction of Kelly's Station. Peter outlines his plan for the fort and relates a wee bit of history regarding the use of block houses in defending Canada from the US in the their war of independence and in the War of 1812. A garrison of 80 men successfully defended the block house at Lacolle Mills against an American force of 4000 men.
