We are here with an amusing story from the Punjab in the North of India. As it happens we are recording this on the 15th of august 2022 which is the 75th anniversary of India’s independence from Britain.
Cities across Indian are holding parades and events featuring soldiers, elephants and dancers. Buildings are lit up in the orange, white and green of India’s national flag.
We know we have lots of listeners in India - so Happy Independence day! You may perhaps know that my family come from India - in fact, they come from Punjab where this story comes from. Anway, as a special tribute to India, I’ve asked Storynory’s founder, Bertie, to read this story.
