From 1975 through 1998, the remarkably unremarkable general practitioner Dr. Harold Shipman racked up 218 to possibly 250 victims, mainly women living alone and vulnerable. His full death toll remains unknown. School friends, reporters and police authorities piece together what they know to try explaining the "Good Doctor's" motivation for his steadily carried out deeds and how he had gotten away with it for so long.
