It is vitally important that British Muslim voices are reflected in contemporary British fiction. These voices can make a difference not only by raising the profile of certain issues, but they can also help to promote interfaith harmony. These diverse voices allow readers from the author’s own community to feel a sense of belonging, and also allow people from outside the community to gain insight into the religion or culture which they would not otherwise have.
