Indian security forces busted a major terror plot and captured an 18-year-old Pakistani infiltrator in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorist surrendered when his associate, trying to cross over with him, was neutralized by the Indian army. Captured in a massive army operation to stop infiltrations at Jammu and Kashmir's Uri, Ali Babar Patra, the Pakistani terrorist who surrendered before the Indian Army along the Line of Control (LOC), disclosed that he is a member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. He made several big revelations to the army including details of his terror training in which the Pakistan Army was allegedly involved.Recently, the report, “Terrorist and other militant groups in Pakistan’, released by the bipartisan research wing of US Congress suggested that Pakistan is home to at least 12 groups designated as ‘foreign terrorist organisations’ by the US, including five of them being India centric.It suggested that these groups operating in Pakistan can be broadly categorised into five types- globally-oriented, Afghanistan oriented, India and Kashmir-oriented, domestically oriented and sectarian.Everyday common Afghans are witnessing the brutal reality of the Taliban regime and UN and other world institutions are taking note of it.The 48th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on the grave humanitarian situation in Afghanistan has expressed concern at violations and abuses of people’s rights in the Taliban controlled country.Recently, the European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS) hosted a webinar during which experts contended that social media channels and platforms had been of key relevance for the Taliban in communicating with and mobilizing supporters during the most recent military offensive that resulted in effectively all of Afghanistan falling to the Taliban.
