Here’s an overview of Tim’s session: Every time you start a multi-percussion solo, there are always learning curves. Add to that, each solo is different, so the skills that are learned in one solo will not easily transfer to the next. The culmination of these obstacles can make learning and practicing multi-percussion solos difficult. This session will remedy these difficulties by presenting practice strategies that overcome the key learning obstacles found in every multi-percussion solo (regardless of the number of instruments or how they are notated). In addition, the strategies presented will cover both short-term fixes and long-term methods for approaching multi-percussion repertoire. At the conclusion of this clinic, you will have new, practical strategies for improving the preparation of their multi-percussion solos, thereby creating a set of “FUNdamentals” for a seemingly non-fundamental instrument.
