Margherita pizza in a cast iron with store-bought ingredients
1 lb pizza dough (I used Terranova Bakery New York Style Pizza dough)
Pasta sauce (Delallo Pizza Sauce Pizzeria Style)
Fresh mozzarella
Basil leaves
Crushed red pepper flakes
Extra virgin olive oil
Roll the pizza dough into three balls. Pour a generous amount of extra virgin olive oil over one ball of dough while using your hands to form a circle for the pizza. The center of the pizza should be thinner than the edges creating a crust. Carefully move the circular dough to a well oiled cast-iron skillet. You'll want to fix the shape of the dough in the skillet. Spoon small amounts of pizza sauce on the thin part of the dough. Add slices of fresh mozzarella. Top with lots of fresh basil leaves and crushed red pepper flakes. Finally, brush the crust with extra virgin olive oil.
Move the skillet to a stovetop and cook on medium-high heat until the bottom of the pizza becomes golden brown. Set an oven to broil and pop the skillet in the oven to finish off the pizza. The pizza is ready when the cheese has melted and the crust is golden brown. Remove from the oven and finish with a bit of extra virgin olive oil on the crust. Enjoy 🤗
