Blithe Spirit
Written by Noël Coward
Blithe Spirit is one of Coward’s most iconic and funniest plays. Successful writer, Charles Condomine attempts to gather material for his next book by inviting the eccentric clairvoyant Madame Acarti into his home to conduct a séance. The evening backfires spectacularly when Charles inadvertently summons the spirit of his dead first wife Elvira, who decides to hang around and haunt him. His second wife Ruth, is not impressed with Charles’ erratic behaviour and since Charles is the only one who can see and hear Elvira their relationship becomes strained to new depths.
