A summer break away to Esk Valley, North Yorkshire Moors was planned post-lockdown staying in 'The Cottages'. Being located so close to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway allowed me to grab multiple shots of steam working along the line (specifically up the 1 in 49 bank out of Grosmont towards Goathland) during the NYMR's first week back running trains since the break during the lockdown. The main leading loco during the week was Southern 926 'Repton' with varying locos banking on the rear for an easy turn around at Milepost 18 for the special timetable in place. Banking locos included BR 9F 92134, Class 25 D7628, BR J29 65984 and Lambton Collieries 0-6-2T 29. Southern 825 had a turn on leading the service on the Thursday, but final day for ourselves meaning I was only able to capture one shot. Shots have been taken along the NYMR between Grosmont and Goathland in mixed weather conditions!
While up in the York Moors, a day was spent in the Yorkshire Dales capturing 35018 'British India Line' with the Dalesman at Ribblehead Viaduct and Ais Gill. LSL/Rail Charter Services Staycation Express was captured while at Ais Gill with 47593 'Galloway Princess' and 37521.
