This video shows a double rail crossing which is automated by Arduino. Two sensors indicate whether a train that has priority is apporaching the crossing. In this case, the tracks of the non-priorrity lego train tracks are disabled and the Lego train signals are put to red. As long as the train enables the sensor, the non-priority lego train tracks remain disabled. Once the priority lego train has passed the sensor, an adjustable timer is started, to disable the tracks a bit longer to make sure the priority Lego train has cleared the Lego rail crossing. After that the signals are put to green and the non-priority tracks are started using PWM technology.

The AlmightyArjen Youtube channel is about Lego train related videos. I sometimes automate Lego trains, or make a stop motion video or I just setup a huge Lego train layout in the living room. Do you have (reasonable) video suggestions? Please let me know!
