Turbinoplasty is a procedure done inside the nostrils to reduce the tissues that are bulking up the nostrils to reduce the tissues so that are bulking up inside the nostril thereby causing a clogging sensation or a blocked sensation of the nose. Turbintaes are two or three small bulges on the side wall of the nose and the most prominent is the most inferior one, which is visible by just looking the tip of the nose and visualize in front of the mirror and these tissues are exposed regularly to infections while breathing day to day and if this goes on for a long time and of the person is susceptible and allergic then this tissues tend to get congested permanently and they start swelling up clogging the nostril. Turbinoplasty is done to reduce the bulk of the tissues so that the nose opens up and the patient can breathe comfortably. Generally it is a safe procedure and it can be done in a hospital set up and it is quite effective also. It is better to get it done under trained hands.
