The idea that Mary was bodily assumed into heaven has no support from either Scripture or early church tradition. In fact, the transitus literature in which this teaching is first found was condemned by Pope Gelasius in the fifth century. Shockingly, this false belief was dogmatized by the Roman church in 1950. In this video, I provide a brief synopsis of this Roman teaching.
