Standup: "After anticipation and those pesky internet leaks 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,' the final book in J.K. Rowling's series, is at long last released."
Hundreds of Harry Potter fans gathered at this New York City Barnes and Noble to celebrate what is being billed as "the world's largest costume party."
They joined in to help countdown the midnight release.
Eighteen-year-old New York City resident Joey Tartaglia-Malter was the first to purchase the novel.
He waited in line for more than 24-hours.

Would-be warlocks, Muggles and sorcerers visited themed floors which included the "Magical Menagerie," "Hogwarts Castle" and the "Forbidden Forest."

Jim Dale, who has created nearly 200 voices for the Potter audiobook series, also came to celebrate.

Despite the novel being leaked online, most of these diehard Potter fans say they refused to read the early release.

'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' is already a top-seller with internet pre-sales in the millions.
