The 2018 Honda Civic Type R is front wheel drive, yet aims to compete with brutally capable all-wheel-drive hot hatch rivals like the Ford Focus RS and VW Golf R. I haven't driven the latest WRX STi, so I'll leave it out of the comparison. Has Honda botched the revival of the Type R moniker in the US, or does the FK8 Type R prove the red H is still the king of FWD performance cars?
