In this session, conference participants will learn about mixed-reality simulations and how they can be used as an active learning tool to scaffold preservice special educator and counselor skill development before and alongside field-based experiences. To illuminate the concepts shared, the presenters will model recommended strategies for engaging in simulations with high school-aged avatars in a virtual classroom setting.
