To prepare my reactive dog, Jessie for competing in dog sports such as Rally Obedience, agility etc, I want to teach her that the ring is a safe, fun place where she needs to focus on me at all times. With practice, I hope that the ring gates themselves will be her cue that we are going to work together and I need her undivided attention so we can have fun!
This is our first session. it takes place in our backayrd,a place safe from other dogs and with low distractions. She Jessie enters the ring, gets clicked for offering behaviors and leaves the ring with me. She worked for over 7 minutes and we both lost focus at times. That's too long, especially early in the training! Despite that, she was still eager to go back in after the session.
See our previous video on ring gates if you want to see how I desensitized her to working near them.
The sessions are based on using training tools from Leslie McDevitt's version of "Control Unleashed" Visit her channel [ Ссылка ]
