this is a neat stage packed with secrets and references to other sonic games. we have green hill with the dumb unnamed robo fish going through the bridges, emerald hill textures, and geometry that mimics gfz2, meadow match, and sa1's mystic ruins. it's colorful all around with little nooks that reward exploration, what more could you ask for?
however, after my first casual playthrough i realized the scaling was quite large, and the only significant path split is somewhat hidden. the level, despite being so large, is quite linear -- which isn't a terrible thing, but it does dock some of the replayability value. i thought i'd have trouble finding two characters that could fly through the level and match pace, but fortunately the 2 damage crusaders that came up in my mind deal with big open spaces quite well.
