Here's my attempt towards this wonderful transcription, hopefully my playing did it justice. Though the anime is quite average, the music is exceptionally good and memorable. This theme was used repeatedly in a different remix throughout subsequent seasons, with the same underlying melody.
Love how this transcription managed to replicate the orchestra, embedding sounds from various instruments into a single instrument. Started playing this song a few years ago cause it really sounded cool back then (still cool as of today), only decided to record this now.
The continuous "wave-like" arpeggios on the left hand at 0:18 and 0:49 made this very exhausting to play, not to mention maintaining a consistent tempo. The part that gave me the most trouble is the octave jumps at 2:38 where both hands are constantly moving towards opposite direction, my eyes can only keep track towards one side. Muscle memory is needed to execute this part well. Upon checking, I realized I missed out some top octave right hand notes, the left hand base note was not really audible, 0:57 was slightly out of tempo too (something more to practice and rectify I guess T.T). I also needed to slow down the chromatic octave scale on 1:26, found it hard to play it precisely especially when both hands start on a different note.
Hopefully the sound quality isn't so bad, all my recordings were done using my phone. Looking forward to get a proper mic and recording device in the future, not very soon though. The piano is also due for tuning :(
Not sure if anyone reads my description here, but feel free to leave a song request in the comments, preferably anime songs though. Will give it a shot if it resonates with me.
