However, the storm led to the authorities closing two ports due to the intensity of the sandstorm surrounding the Suez Canal. In Egypt's capital city, Cairo, the sandstorm led to the collapse of a billboard.
It's worth noting that sandstorms commonly occur in Egypt during the spring and summer, although most cause minimal damage.
