Alan Woods, editor of www.marxist.com, discusses the hypocrisy of the imperialists regarding events in the Middle East.

On the one hand, Theresa May and Donald Trump have recently been wining-and-dining Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince, in an attempt to sell his regime bombs that will be used against the innocent people of Yemen.

On the other hand, the US and British imperialists cry crocodile tears over the destruction of Eastern Ghouta by the Syrian dictatorship.

Meanwhile, the Western imperialists offer tacit support to their NATO ally - the authoritarian Erdogan - in his "defensive" war against the "terrorist" Kurds in Afrin.

But it is a well-known fact that, along with the Saudis, the belligerent Turks are one of the main backers of the Islamic fundamentalists.

So who are the real terrorists: the freedom fighters of the PKK? Or the imperialists, their local allies, and the jihadi monsters that they have helped create and fund?
